The Evercade!

In 2020, after many delays, Blaze introduced a new portable, the Evercade, this is a new portable (that you can connect to the TV through a mini HDMI, the same output that the NeoGeo Mini) with a very focused objective, 8 and 16 bits retro collectors that instead of digital downloads they (and I) want their games in cartridges with beautiful cases and instruction manual, just like in the good old days… and that’s becoming more and more expensive by the day if you want to get the original games.

Video of “Nettou Real Bout Special” (Game Boy)

Not that long ago (for my standards) i uploaded a video of Fatal Fury First Contact for NeoGeo Pocket, that was the portable equivalent of Real Bout 2 for the NeoGeo, now i bring the portable edition of the previous game, Real Bout Special (the better game of the 2) for Game Boy and i can only say that Takara did an awesome job with the conversion.

Merry 2021!

I’m sorry for being so late, somehow i got locked out of my own web ^_^uuu… anyway. 2020 has been a pretty terrible year all around but somehow it has been pretty good for videogames, we even got 3 new consoles (PS5, Series S/X and the Evercade). Sadly 2021 is not looking any better yet but we have to try to be positive and hope that 2021 will be a wonderful year!.

Videos of Fatal Fury First Contact (Nintendo Switch / NeoGeo Pocket color)

Thankfully SNK decided a while ago to create a NeoGeo Pocket Color Collection for Nintendo Switch, so far we have seen The King of Fighters R2, Samurai Shodown! 2, SNK Gals Fighters, Last Blade and now Fatal Fury First Contact. Just like the other NGPC fighting games, this one is based in a NeoGeo game, in this case, Real Bout 2… don’t let the ultra pixelated graphics turn you down, NeoGeo Pocket fighting games as a whole are quite awesome and Fatal Fury is not an exception!.

“Super Real Mahjong LOVE 2~7!” (Switch), taking a look to one of the special editions

Super Real Mahjong is a series that started in the arcades and from there, went to game consoles. As the tittle say it’s a mahjong game, in which if you win a game, your adversary has to strip until they are naked, there is no sex or anything like that, but there is (anime) nudity… in the versions that are not censored. For Switch, the game is, of course, censored. but this is about showing this edition and not so much about the games (that will come later… maybe!). This is a edition from the ebten store (they have a bunch of them!), so let’s take a look!.

SNK Gals Fighters (Nintendo Switch)

Recently it has been NeoGeo 30th anniversary and SNK has decided to celebrate it by releasing SNK Gals Fighters (a NeoGeo Pocket Color game, don’t ask me why but i won’t complain!), one of the most charming fighting games ever. It only has 11 fighters, (8 + 3 secret characters) which wasn’t too much even for NeoGeo Pocket games, but makes for it with plenty of charm!. SNK Gals Fighters is by all means what inspired SNK Heroines, but they are quite different… while with SNK Heroines tried to simplify fighting games and adding some sexy and cute elements while at it, SNK Gals Fighters isn’t that different from KOF or Fatal Fury but with a layer of cutesy over it that fits like a glove for a NG Pocket game!.

Just like with “Samurai Shodown! 2“, the emulator includes a selectable screen filter that try to emulate (and very well if you ask me) how a NeoGeo Pocket Color game really looked. Sometimes this filters doesn’t show up very well in videos compared to watching directly a Switch. The first video is gameplay with Mai Shiranui and the screen filter activated, the second one is gameplay with Shermie without that filter.

Akkukan Fighter Dash Infinity Nitro (Mega-CD)

Akkukan Fighter is a charming mini fighting game with some Urusei Yatsura characters, included in the absolutely awesome Urusei Yatsura: Dears my Friends for Mega-CD. In this adventure game, Ten has a videogame console and you can find some games for it (which are not much more complex than a Game&watch games), this is one of those games and the better one. You can play with Lum, Ryunosuke, Asuka and Shinobu (too bad the other “brawler”, Benten, is not in the cast… but she has her very own mini game!).
